The Millennium Harbourview Hotel Xiamen is proud to share the following inspiring story of the Millennium & Copthorne service.

Duty Managers Maggie Zhang and Jerry Huang, Rooms Division Manager Michael Chen and Senior Bell Captain Ken Lu recently went above and beyond their call of duty to help a hotel guest retrieve his lost briefcase which he had accidently left behind in a taxi.

As the guest did not obtain a receipt from the taxi, the four tried to get the taxi’s licence plate number through the security cameras. But this proved futile as the taxi was blocked by another car. Undeterred, the four then contacted the airport to check whether the security cameras there caught the taxi’s number plate. They also contacted the taxi companies and put a message out on the radio for taxi companies to contact the hotel if the briefcase is found. They even went as far as to contact the GPS company to determine the taxi that dropped off the guest.

Through their relentless effort in tracking down the briefcase, a very grateful Mr Craig Bennett finally managed to retrieve his briefcase in the wee hours of the morning. The actions of Maggie Zhang, Jerry Huang, Michael Chen and Ken Lu earned the hotel a rave review on TripAdvisor and also made Mr Bennett a loyal guest of the hotel, who says that Millennium Harbourview Hotel is the only hotel he would recommend to his friends and also the only one he will stay in when he is in Xiamen.

General Manager Simon Jim who was very pleased to receive the compliment, acknowledged, “You went through all means to provide superior service to Mr Bennett. By performing this great deed, you made our hotel “The place to stay”! It is service without borders. I am very proud of all of you. Jia You!”
