Travel in Xiamen

Xiamen University was founded in 1921 by Tan Kah Kee, the well-known patriotic overseas Chinese leader, and was the first university in China founded by an overseas Chinese. The campus enjoys not only a rich academy atmosphere, but also beautiful scenery, giving rise to its reputation as China’s most beautiful university campus. The campus is noted for its historic buildings, with walls and traditional tile roofs combining Chinese and Western architectural styles.

Hulishan Fort was built in 1894，and covers more than 70，000 square meters. Located at the Hulishan seashore，on the southern tip of Xiamen Island，the entire Fort is of a bunker-shape and combines European and Chinese styles of the Ming and Qing Dynasties.

Being a stroller is a great way to explore Xiamen. Try the beautiful boardwalk stretches for 6 kilometers along the Huandao Road. Along the way, tourists can lean on the railing to enjoy the limitless ocean scenery.

Wuyuan Bay Wetland Park is a harmonious coexistence of man and nature with wooden plank road, pavilion, tower and bridge. It is as well a paradise for bird feeding and sheltering.

Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street is one of the most prosperous traditional and comprehensive commercial areas in Xiamen.
