Xiamen among China‘s popular destinations during National Day holidays

Xiamen

As the National Day Holiday (30th Sept-7th Oct, 2012) approaches, China’s inbound tourism market has witnessed a surge in bookings, reports Strait Herald.

According to Ctrip.com, a leading travel portal in China, the total booking figures of Beijing-bound tourists peaked nationwide during the 8-day holiday. Xiamen was still amongst China’s hottest destinations for holiday-makers based on reservation figures.

The bookings of outbound tourist routes and long-distance domestic tourist routes heading to Sichuan, Yunnan, and Hainan were also very high, according to Ctrip.Com.

Meanwhile, Xiamen will waive bridge and tunnel tolls (but not highway tolls) for non-local passenger cars with less than 7 seats during the upcoming National Day holidays to encourage a boom in self-driving tourism.
