NAN PU TUO TEMPLE

Founded in the Tang Dynasty and rebuilt during the reign of the Qing Dynasty’s Emperor Kangxi (in 1684), with over 1300 years old, this well-known temple was named after the famous temple on Putuo Mountain in Zhejiang Province because it is located in the south of Putuo Mountain. It was built in the mountainside, and includes the south Fujian Buddhist Academy. Founded in 1925, the Fujian Buddhist Academy is the first one of such academy in China. Nanputuo Temple receives numerous visitors every year around.
